In 2021 I had enough of the squares and rectangles and circles. I preferred to continue with abstract painting. Rejecting the conventional confines of canvas, I sought to redefine abstract painting by infusing it with human and animal contours. These forms, though discernible to the eye, defied easy categorisation. Each stroke of color and curve hinted at a human or animal figure, but detail remained elusive, tantalisingly out of reach.The resulting artwork became a testament to my commitment to innovation. By leveraging familiar silhouettes as a foundation for abstraction, they managed to harness both recognition and enigma, creating a dynamic tension. The paintings dares viewers to explore beyond the surface, to traverse the blurred boundaries between representation and pure visual sensation.
For me, this approach ignited excitement and posed a constant challenge. Striving to strike the perfect balance between form and formlessness, they navigated the uncharted waters of ambiguity. The act of creation itself became a dialogue between intention and intuition, as brushstrokes merged with the essence of the subjects they alluded to, resulting in compositions that were as much about the journey as the destination.
It is a vibrant tribute to the power of abstraction, demonstrating that even amidst recognisable shapes, the abstract soul of art could flourish.
